Series Distributed Internationally by Woodcut International
For immediate release:
London/Hampshire – Thursday 11th March 2021 – UK indie Woodcut Media has been commissioned by Sky Crime UK to produce a compelling new true crime series The Killer Within. Currently in production, the first episode is scheduled to broadcast on the channel in April.
The Killer Within (10 x 1 hour) delves into what turns someone into a killer. Is there a specific trigger or is someone always destined to murder? Any homicide sends shockwaves through a community, torments detectives and baffles forensic investigators until a perpetrator is brought to justice. But the central question will always remain: what makes a seemingly ordinary person take another person’s life? This gripping series explores the making of a killer and unearths what drives someone to commit the most heinous of crimes. Whether it was premeditated or spontaneous, a revenge plot or the killer simply snapped, The Killer Within uncovers the true story behind each killer from the very beginning.
The Killer Within was commissioned by Emily-Jayne Wilde, Programming Lead, Sky Crime and Sky Witness. Executive producers are Kate Beal and Matthew Gordon, with Katie McDougall as series producer (Woodcut Media).
The new series is being distributed internationally by Woodcut International.
Kate Beal, CEO, Woodcut Media commented, “There are killers whose motives can be tracked to their upbringing or a specific incident, however others have completely baffled investigators. This illuminating series really examines the driving forces behind some of the most horrific murders and with some surprising results. We are really looking forward to its debut on Sky Crime next month and fans of the crime genre will not be disappointed.”
